From the time Jordan was in pre-school she's been asking if she could make her hair black. I think part of this comes from the fact that her favorite people in the world, that she would cling to were black ladies. A couple of these ladies use to tease that my little girl was going to grow up to be a professional black woman.
Anyway, last night I finally let her do it. After all she will be turning 14 on the 6th. It's not like she's trying to do it to be emo or anything like that. She picked out her color, midnight black, and we headed home. Almost forgot, I figured if she's doing hers I can do mine. So I picked a color that seemed close to my natural hair color. A dark brown red color.
Unfortunately, I wasn't thinking very clearly when getting Jordan's color. I forgot her hair's a little thicker than mine. Now that's saying something, cause I am always told when I get my hair done that it is really thick and that there is a whole lot there. Anyway (yes, I use that word far to often), I should have bought two boxes for her hair. Her hair ended up blotchy. However she likes, it so that's good. Plus, I bought her a non -permanent color. Washes out in 8 shampoos. I really hope it does.
I'm still trying to decide if I should buy more and do her hair again. So that it's doesn't look blotchy. I'm just afraid I'd fry her hair.
My hair did not end up looking the color on the box. It looks almost black. *weird* I don't understand why it's this dark. Also, I don't see any red. Maybe when the light's on it that will show. On the upside it did hide all my gray and my hair feels really, really silky.

What do you think about that?
